Historical Evolution and Resilience of the Islamic Financial System: Ethical Challenges and Adaptation in a Global High-Interest Rate Environment

La ricerca esamina l’evoluzione storica e la resilienza del sistema finanziario islamico di fronte alle sfide poste dall’aumento dei tassi di interesse nel mercato interbancario globale. Viene evidenziata la ricchezza della tradizione giuridica islamica in materia finanziaria, con contributi delle scuole di pensiero sunnita, sciita e sufi. Nonostante le sfide, il sistema finanziario islamico ha dimostrato una capacità di adattamento e innovazione, sviluppando strutture contrattuali alternative che gli permettono di partecipare al mercato finanziario internazionale senza compromettere i suoi principi religiosi fondamentali. La sua attenzione all’etica, alla giustizia sociale e alla stabilità finanziaria lo rende un’alternativa attraente sia per gli investitori musulmani che per quelli non musulmani nella ricerca di modelli più sostenibili. Tuttavia, si nota la necessità di una maggiore standardizzazione e armonizzazione delle pratiche finanziarie islamiche a livello globale. Il futuro del sistema dipenderà dalla sua capacità di bilanciare la fedeltà ai suoi principi con l’innovazione e l’adattamento a un ambiente finanziario in evoluzione. Nel complesso, lo studio sottolinea la rilevanza di comprendere e apprezzare la complessità e la ricchezza del sistema finanziario islamico, che può fornire preziose lezioni al dibattito globale sull’etica e la sostenibilità in ambito finanziario.
